Who is Matzumi ?

The project "Matzumi" is a "one-woman-band", startet in 1977 by an absolute hardware synthesizer fan that makes music since her early childhood, self taught - both the compositional and the singing. She was born into music.

Her pieces are mostly instrumental, often melancholy sounding. Even it is electronic music, every sound is produced solely from her instruments and not from a computer.

Each of her songs reflect her soul lives again, usually has its own story, her wohle heart and soul in it - so they would never be "assembly-line production" capable, because they do what they do not regard as a product. All of her songs she is imagining as a "diary set to music of her life" because her emotions, experiences, knowledge  - puts her whole self into sounds and becomes one with the instrument that she plays.

She is mostly composing at night which apparently her most creative time.

On 03/12/2011 she won the Schallwelle - award as "Best Newcomer of the year 2010".

The background of her music:

The instrument as the voice of the soul, the music as a diary (reflection) of her life. Compositions are emotions - expressed in sound.
